Sprouting again from that harsh cracked pavement
I thought she would be here again.
We were no longer connected
but I thought not of it.
When I found her
She flinched at my touch,
like I was something foreign.
She grew beyond me
But still I hoped to be reunited again.
She strayed too far from my reach
And each time we met I smiled,
Felt happy in her presence.
But she never sat by my side.
Then I was alone again.
It felt so sudden, too thoughtless
That she had left with a single sentence.
But I forced myself to believe it.
She had not the heart to see my tears
To be so close as to feel my pain
And break the entire world
Which she moved on from long ago;
A fruitless reality that would never blossom
I thought she would be here again.
We were no longer connected
but I thought not of it.
When I found her
She flinched at my touch,
like I was something foreign.
She grew beyond me
But still I hoped to be reunited again.
She strayed too far from my reach
And each time we met I smiled,
Felt happy in her presence.
But she never sat by my side.
Then I was alone again.
It felt so sudden, too thoughtless
That she had left with a single sentence.
But I forced myself to believe it.
She had not the heart to see my tears
To be so close as to feel my pain
And break the entire world
Which she moved on from long ago;
A fruitless reality that would never blossom
