Just How it is

Sitting in the corner,

crying.

Waiting for an order

Because that’s how you treat me

Some people don't even see me

They see an object

On which they can unload all of their sexual fantasies.

It’s not just me I know, It’s got to be.

Just because I choose to switch teams

Doesn’t give you the right

To crush all my dreams.

We’re the only ones

Who speak for ourselves

We’ve been through more shit

Than any of you care to even admit

Some of us end up locked

In the closet our whole lives

tossed away the key,

all because someone said that it wasn’t okay for their egg to crack.

Just step back,

Look at the picture.

There’s an attack,

On our people

It’s like a needle,

a knife stabbed in our gut

Everytime you said something bad

You won’t even admit that you’re wrong

Take a look at what’s going on

Show a little respect,

There’s more of us than you think

The problem is that some of us

Succumb to the stress

Just give it a rest,

You’ve already tried your best to be spiteful and hateful.

I’m still crying

Slowly dying

Under all the stress of trying to educate these indoctrinated kids.

Love is love,

and hate is hate.

We’re on the receiving end of it all.

That’s why we keep our identities secret

on dates.

Divorced.

Split.

Left.

Shunned,

and disowned

By the ones we love already,

in the end It always ends in agony

Because of who we are.

And we end up dying,

Either because we killed ourselves,

Or you killed us.

You can’t even trust one of us in our own damn bathroom

Transgender people

We’re an endangered species

Don’t make it harder

We’re not asking much,

please, and thank you.

I guess that’s just how it is though.
